Strukturholding Saar has been awarded the accolade of ‘Healthy Employer’ by the market research and certification institute EUPD Research for the second time in a row. This title was granted in recognition of the holding company’s consistent commitment to its employees’ holistic health.
During EUPD Research’s certification process back in 2023, Strukturholding Saar was able to impressively demonstrate that its occupational health management is strategically rooted and takes a holistic approach. SHS, with its wide range of services, was the first employer in Saarland to be awarded this seal of approval.
SHS has been continually further developing and systematically expanding its occupational health management ever since. Its services now cover a wide range of physical and mental health concerns. In terms of physical health, employees have access to a range of options including regular Pilates and yoga courses, corporate runs, massage treatments and other activities focusing on exercise and prevention. These are supplemented by an incentive programme to promote health-conscious behaviour and enable employees to win attractive prizes when they actively participate.
SHS also attaches great importance to mental health. As a result, the company offers a comprehensive employee assistance programme (EAP) where employees can access services such as internal psychological counselling. The high acceptance rate for occupational integration management (BEM) highlights employees’ confidence in the measures on offer. Occupational health management is overseen by an in-house interdisciplinary steering committee that ensures sustainable, needs-based development. In addition, SHS provides internal training that focuses on empowerment and equal opportunities: services such as programmes to support women at work and workshops on the menopause or cycle-aligned working help to promote health, performance and well-being at different times of life.
‘Occupational health management is a key part of our corporate culture. The health and well-being of our employees is not something that we view as a short-term initiative, but rather a factor in lasting success. EUPD Research renewing our Healthy Employer label confirms our consistent approach and fills me with huge pride – especially as the first company in Saarland to obtain this certification and now be successfully recertified. For us, it serves as both recognition and motivation to continue further developing our occupational health management activities’, explained Rita Gindorf-Wagner, CEO of Strukturholding Saar.
Joshua Baaken, Director Social & ESG Operations, also emphasised how important this topic is to the company: ‘Strukturholding Saar’s pioneering role demonstrates the importance of a long-term commitment to employee health. Active support from the executive board and the managers’ commitment to occupational health management mean that health is strategically rooted in the company’s DNA. This creates an environment where employees enjoy their work and are able to access long-term development.’
